We obtain your Single Status Certificate directly from the last U.S. state where you resided—or where you currently live—ensuring it meets all official requirements.
Once your certificate is issued by the U.S. government, we handle the complete Apostille process to ensure it is legally recognized abroad.
Avoid common pitfalls and delays. We know the exact requirements for both the affidavit and the Apostille.
Don’t waste hours with complex government forms. We manage the entire process from start to finish.
As a commissioned and insured Florida Notary Public, your documents are handled with the highest level of care.
We offer standard and expedited processing to ensure you get your documents when you need them.
Single Status Certificate / Letter of No Record / Certificate of Non-Impediment
Certification issued by a government agency confirming that no marriage record exists in a specific jurisdiction, or that there is no impediment to marriage.
A sworn statement signed by the individual and notarized, in which they affirm that they are single and legally free to marry.
State or local vital records offices or clerk/recorder offices; for example, a ‘Letter of No Record’ (county), a ‘Certificate of Non-Impediment’ (NYC), or, in Florida, a ‘Single Status Statement’ resulting from an official record search.
The interested party (the applicant); the signature is notarized by a U.S. Notary Public. In some cases, it is specifically used as an ‘Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate’ for marriage abroad.
It certifies that no marriage is recorded in that jurisdiction (state/city/county); usually this refers to the last state of residence of the applicant. There is no ‘national’ certificate in the U.S. because there is no centralized federal marriage registry.
The applicant themselves certifies under oath their legal capacity to marry; its validity depends on whether the destination country accepts a notarized affidavit.
Countries or authorities that require a government-issued certificate (‘no record found’ / ‘certificate of non-impediment’). Some counties do not issue this document and instead defer to the specific requirements of the destination country.
Countries or authorities that accept a sworn affidavit in place of an official government certificate. The U.S. Department of State itself refers to this option as an ‘affidavit of eligibility to marry’.
Typically: government issuer → certification/apostille according to state regulations (e.g., the Florida Department of Health issues a ‘No Record Found’ or ‘Single Status Statement’ that follows the state’s apostille process).
U.S. Notary → notarial certification (county/state) → state apostille. This is the typical process for notarized documents intended for use abroad.
Greater evidentiary weight for countries that require an official stamp or government-issued document; language and format are standardized by the issuing authority.
Faster and more flexible; useful when the foreign authority accepts a sworn affidavit instead of an official certificate.
May require proof of residence or local ties (e.g., NYC only issues it to residents); not all counties provide this document; it only covers the specific jurisdiction searched, not the entire U.S.
Its validity depends on whether the destination country accepts it; some authorities do not accept affidavits and instead require an official government-issued certificate or letter.

It’s a document that legally attests that you are not currently married obtained from goverment.
An Apostille is a certificate issued by the Florida Department of State that authenticates the signature of the Notary Public or public official on your document. It is required for your Single Status Certificate to be accepted as legally valid in foreign countries that are members of the Hague Convention.
This depends on the requirements of the country where you are getting married. We can give you a preliminary recommendation, but we will confirm the exact requirement for you during our consultation.
Standard processing typically takes 20-45 business days. We also offer expedited services that can shorten the timeline significantly, just a few days.
We offer a transparent pricing structure. The total cost includes the retrieval of the official certificate issued by the U.S. government, our professional notary service fee, and the state filing fees for the Apostille. Please contact us for a detailed, no-obligation quote.
