Birth Certificate Authentication and Legalization for Non-Hague Countries

Adding children to a residence visa in the Gulf, enrolling them at a school in Doha or settling an inheritance in Egypt calls for a U.S. birth certificate that the authorities there will accept. Birth certificate authentication is the state seal plus the U.S. Department of State and the embassy; we run those offices from Florida. The certified copy itself comes from the vital records office, and only you can request it.

We authenticate the copy you hold; we never obtain it

Apostille de la Haya is the trade name of Riveros International Business Corp, a private company registered in Florida. We are not a government office, not a vital records office and not an embassy, and no authority endorses us. Birth certificates are issued only by the vital records office of the state, county or city where the birth was registered; you request the certified copy yourself, and we do not obtain, request or process its issuance. Our fees pay for the certification, authentication and legalization steps and shipping, in addition to official fees.

The problem

Birth certificate authentication: why a child's residence file stalls

The sponsorship is waiting on paper

Immigration in Dubai, Doha or Kuwait wants a legalized birth certificate before the child appears on the residence. So every week without it is a week of uncertainty.

A hospital certificate is not a birth certificate

The souvenir document with footprints, and even some county forms, cannot be certified, because only the vital records copy carries a signature the state will certify.

Short form or long form?

Some receiving offices want the version with the parents' details. So ordering the short form first means ordering again.

Born in one state, filed from another

The copy is certified by the state that issued it. Therefore, a Texas birth certificate starts in Austin, no matter where the family lives now.

The apostille was refused

The certificate was apostilled for a Convention country. However, the Gulf immigration office rejected it, because none of the five countries accepts apostilles.

Three children, three copies, one deadline

Each certificate follows the chain on its own. As a result, a single rejected copy delays the entire family's file.

How we solve it

How birth certificate authentication makes a copy acceptable abroad

The right copy, before you order

First we tell you whether your destination needs the long form and which vital records office issues it. Then you request it directly.

Any state of birth

The first seal comes from the state that issued the copy. So we manage that step for Florida and for every other state.

Washington and the embassy from our side

The U.S. Department of State authentication and the embassy legalization are handled here. Meanwhile, you stay where you are.

Checked against the passports

Issuing office, signature, seal, date and the spelling of the child's and the parents' names are verified before the first submission. That way, nothing bounces.

Several children, one file

The children's certificates and the parents' marriage certificate move together. As a result, the sponsor receives a complete set.

Tracked delivery

Finally, the legalized certificates ship with a tracking number to the destination country or to the address you indicate.

How it works

Birth certificate authentication, seal by seal

The chain starts at the vital records copy and cannot skip an office. The general walkthrough is on the main document legalization page; here is the birth certificate version.

Trámite de apostilla 100% en línea por videollamada
01

The certified copy, requested by you

Issued by the vital records office of the state, county or city where the birth was registered. Hospital certificates, souvenir documents and photocopies cannot enter the chain.

02

State and federal seals

The issuing state certifies the registrar's signature; the U.S. Department of State in Washington authenticates that certification.

03

Embassy of the destination country

The embassy of Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar or the UAE legalizes the certificate. A ministry of foreign affairs stamp may follow at destination; we tell you in advance.

What we legalize

Documents that travel with birth certificate authentication

The documents that most often share a file with a birth certificate. We start from the certified copies you already have and do not obtain or request official records.

Birth certificate, long form when required

Parents' marriage certificate

School records and transcripts

Custody order

Adoption decree

Travel consent for a minor

Name change order

Vaccination or medical records

The right document

Which copy birth certificate authentication accepts

Vital records copy only

The state certifies the registrar's signature on the copy. However, hospital certificates and commemorative documents have no such signature, so they are refused at the first office.

Long form for most destinations

Immigration offices and courts abroad often want the version with the parents' names and details. So we tell you what your destination expects before you order.

Recent issue dates

Some embassies and receiving offices require copies issued within a limited period. When that applies, we say so in the first reply.

Requested by you, always

We do not obtain, request or process the issuance of birth certificates. Instead, you order the copy from the vital records office, and our work begins when it is in your hands.

Destination

Where an authenticated birth certificate goes, country by country

United Arab Emirates

Embassy or consulate general attestation, then MOFA attestation in the Emirates; residence visas for children and school enrollment are the usual purposes.

Qatar

Embassy attestation, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha, for dependents' residence permits and schools.

Kuwait

Consular section of the Kuwait Embassy in Washington, D.C., then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait, for children's civil IDs.

Egypt

Embassy or consulate with jurisdiction, often followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stamp for civil registration or inheritance matters.

Iraq

Consular section of the Iraqi Embassy in Washington, D.C., then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iraq, for civil-status and inheritance files.
