Certified copies of marriage certificates are issued only by the county clerk or the state vital records office where the marriage was recorded, and you request them directly; we do not obtain, request or process them. Immigration in Abu Dhabi, Doha or Kuwait asked the sponsor for a legalized marriage certificate. So until it arrives, the spouse's residence and the children's IDs wait.
The certificate was apostilled for another purpose, but the Gulf immigration office rejected it, because none of the five countries accepts a Hague apostille.
Both are certified. However, they carry different signatures and the chain differs slightly, so ordering the wrong one means paying twice.
The certificate must be certified by the state that issued it, not by the state where you live now. So from Florida, a New Jersey certificate still starts in Trenton.
