Apostille and legalization of U.S. documents: two routes to make your document valid abroad. The destination country, that is, the place where you will present it, decides which one. That is why we ask you to choose yours: on this page you will find what you need to decide and, then, the step to the full service.
We are not a government agency or an embassy. We process the apostille or legalization of documents you already have: we do not issue or obtain them.
For countries that are party to the Hague Convention: for example, Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Peru or Chile. One seal issued in the United States, and your document is ready.
For Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, where the apostille is not accepted. Instead, a chain of three certifications is required: state, U.S. Department of State and embassy, in that order and with a single point of contact.
Type the country where you will use your document into the consultant and we will tell you the route: apostille or legalization.

The apostille validates your document before the 130 countries party to the 1961 Convention, with no additional consular steps.
First we receive your document and notarize it online when needed. Then we process the apostille in Florida.
Your apostille is, in fact, a paper document. That is why tracked international shipping is not an extra: it is the only way it reaches its destination.
The Florida Department of State issues the apostille; however, the first step is performed and vouched for by a Notary Public of the State of Florida.
The seal of the notarial practice that answers for your process
Objections exist between countries: for example, Germany regarding India, or Austria regarding Algeria. Many websites cite them as if they limited the U.S. apostille. They do not. The United States maintains no active objection; the only one it ever registered, against Liberia, was withdrawn on May 20, 2015. Therefore, an apostille issued in the United States is binding before all 130 parties to the Convention, without exception.
One more clarification: the U.S. Department of State does not issue electronic apostilles. In practice, your apostille is a paper document. That is why sending the original by DHL is not an extra: it is the only way your document reaches its destination.

We do not issue or obtain official documents, since only the competent authority issues them. That is why our work begins once the document is in your hands.
First, share it on WhatsApp or place your order in the online store. We then confirm what you need based on the destination country.
First we notarize, when needed. Then we process the apostille with the Florida Department of State. The certificate is issued under the responsibility of the Notary Public who performs the first phase.
Finally, we send the physical document to your country, to the address you give us, with a tracking number.
These five countries are not party to the Hague Convention, so the apostille is not accepted there. Instead, your document needs full legalization: state certification, authentication by the U.S. Department of State and legalization at the embassy. We handle the entire chain for you, without you traveling to the United States.
We provide this service only for these five countries. We process documents you already have: we do not issue, obtain or request official documents, and our fees are therefore in addition to each office’s official fees.

First, a certified copy of a public document, or a private document notarized before a Florida Notary Public. Without this starting point, no office will accept it.
Next, the Florida Department of State, or that of the state that issued the document, certifies the signature. For these countries, however, it issues a certification, not an apostille.
Then the Office of Authentications of the U.S. Department of State, in Washington, authenticates the state certification. Federal documents, by contrast, enter directly at this step.
Finally, the destination country’s embassy in Washington applies the last seal. If its ministry requires an additional certification, we let you know.
That country is not party to the Convention. With us, we review the document and the destination and confirm the correct route in writing before you pay twice.
From another country, phone calls rarely get anywhere. With us, we present the document at each office; you only need to get it to us.
An uncertified copy or a skipped step costs weeks, because the chain starts over. With us, we check the copy, seals and signatures before taking the first step.
Arabic translation, chamber of commerce, their own forms; and they change without notice. With us, we confirm the current requirements before we start and notify you as each stage closes.
We itemize the concepts, that is, each office’s official fees and our professional fees, with no surprises. Tell us the document and the country and you will receive the exact steps.
Also in Spanish: Legalización de documentos para países fuera del Convenio. Is your document going to a Convention country? Then go back to route 1.

Zulma Eliana Bourelly founded Apostille de la Haya in 2009 under Riveros International Business Corp (registered in Florida — Sunbiz P09000083043). She has served as a Florida Notary Public since 2010. Her advantage is, above all, a dual perspective. On one hand, legal training of Latin American origin: thanks to it, she understands what the registries, consulates and agencies in your country expect to receive. On the other, certification in the Florida system, where your document is notarized, apostilled or begins its legalization.
Every credential has a number and a public record, so you can verify it today with its issuer. Service in English, Spanish and Italian.
Apostille de la Haya is a private document-services company. We are not a law firm or a government agency, and we do not provide legal or immigration advice.
Is your case different? Write to us on WhatsApp or enter the virtual office via Zoom: during office hours you speak with an advisor right away.
The apostille is a single certificate, valid in the 130 countries party to the Hague Convention. Legalization, by contrast, is a chain of three certifications (state, U.S. Department of State and embassy) for countries that are not party. You do not choose it: the country where you will use the document decides.
It is the certificate that validates a public document from one country before the other members of the 1961 Hague Convention. Thanks to the apostille, your document issued in the United States takes effect in the 130 member countries, with no additional consular steps. At Apostille de la Haya we process that certificate for you.
No. First we receive your document and notarize it online when needed. Then we process the apostille or legalization in Florida and Washington and, finally, we send you the original by DHL to the country you indicate.
Your document needs the legalization chain: state certification, authentication by the U.S. Department of State and legalization at your country’s embassy. We handle it from start to finish for Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates; see our document legalization page. For other countries outside the Convention, please ask us.
Yes. A private document —a power of attorney, a letter, a contract— is first notarized in the United States and then apostilled. We handle both steps, and the notarization can be done online.
On paper, because the U.S. Department of State does not issue electronic apostilles. That is why we send you the original by DHL, with a tracking number, to the address you give us.
Only for Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. For other countries outside the Convention, please ask us first: we do not promise the consular route where we do not handle it.
No. We are a private document-services company; we do not issue, obtain or request official documents. Only the competent authority issues them. That is why our service begins with a document already in your possession.
Write to us on WhatsApp with a photo of your document and the destination country. We will confirm which route you need, the steps and a written quote, always during office hours.
