UAE Embassy Attestation of U.S. Documents: Legalization for the United Arab Emirates

An apostille is not accepted in the Emirates, because the UAE is not part of the Hague Convention. What your employer, sponsor or bank in Dubai or Abu Dhabi expects is UAE embassy attestation: the last seal of a three-step chain that we run for you from Florida, so that you do not fly back to the United States for a stamp.

A private service, not the UAE Embassy

Apostille de la Haya (Riveros International Business Corp) is a private company registered in Florida that manages documents. We are not the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, not a UAE government office and not affiliated with the U.S. government, and none of them endorses us. Every seal is issued by the office in charge; we prepare, present, follow up and ship. Our fees are separate from the official fees, and we do not obtain or request official documents on anyone’s behalf: attestation starts with the document you already hold.

The problem

Why UAE embassy attestation trips people up

The PRO sent your apostille back

Your typing center or company PRO looked at the apostilled degree and shook his head. The Emirates never joined the Hague Convention, so that certificate has no value at the labor ministry. In other words, the wrong seal.

«Attestation» sounds like one stamp; it is three

Ministries in the UAE say attestation. In practice it means state certification, U.S. Department of State authentication and the embassy, in that order. Also, each office has its own form and its own clock.

Washington is far from Dubai

The embassy and the Department of State sit in Washington, D.C. You cannot walk in from Deira. Besides, the phone lines are not built for questions from another time zone.

A university copy without the right signature

Transcripts printed from a portal, or a degree copy without the registrar's original signature, are the most frequent reason a file bounces back to step one. Then the weeks start again.

Last year's checklist no longer works

A colleague did it in 2025 with one form. However, the embassy has since changed it, because requirements move without announcement.

The labor card has a date on it

Employment visas, family sponsorship and school enrollment run on deadlines. So every returned document eats the margin your sponsor gave you.

How we solve it

How we handle UAE embassy attestation for you

Route confirmed in writing before any fee

First we look at your document and at its use in the Emirates. Then we tell you in writing whether it needs attestation, which office starts and what to send.

Three offices, one file, one contact

State certification, federal authentication and the UAE Embassy are handled as a single file by the same person. Also, that person answers your messages in English or Spanish.

The Washington leg is ours

We present the file at the U.S. Department of State and at the embassy or consulate that has jurisdiction over your document. Meanwhile, you stay where you are.

Every copy checked before it travels

Registrar signature, seals, dates and names as in your passport: we verify all of it before the first submission. That is what keeps the file from bouncing.

Current embassy rules, not last year's

We confirm the requirements in force at the UAE mission that will handle your document on the day we submit, instead of trusting an old checklist.

Tracked courier to the Emirates

The attested original ships with a tracking number to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or any address you indicate. Also, we notify you when it leaves.

How it works

UAE embassy attestation: the three seals your document collects

The order never changes, because each office certifies the signature of the one before it. The general explanation of the chain, office by office, is on our main document legalization page; here is what matters for the Emirates.

Apostilla de actas en todos los estados de Estados Unidos
01

Before the embassy: state and federal seals

Florida's Department of State (or the department of the issuing state) certifies the document; the U.S. Department of State in Washington then authenticates that certification. Federal documents skip the state and go straight to Washington.

02

At the UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C.

The embassy attests the document once the federal seal is on it. The UAE also runs consulates general in New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Boston, and which office takes your file can depend on the issuing state; we check before submitting.

03

After you land: MOFA attestation

Documents attested by a UAE mission abroad are normally attested again by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs inside the Emirates. Your employer, sponsor or you complete that step there; we tell you in advance so it does not surprise you.

What we legalize

Documents that go through UAE embassy attestation

These are the documents that most often go through our UAE files. Attestation starts with the document you already hold; we do not obtain or request official records for you.

Degrees and diplomas for the labor card

Transcripts and course lists

Marriage certificate for a spouse's residence visa

Children's birth certificates for family sponsorship

Powers of attorney for property or banking

Certificates of incorporation and free-sale certificates

Police clearance you already have in hand

Nursing, medical and engineering licenses

Emirates specifics

Four things to know before you start UAE embassy attestation

Arabic comes after, not before

Ministries and courts in the UAE usually want an Arabic version. However, it is produced by a translator licensed in the Emirates after the attestation, so translating in the United States first is wasted money.

Commercial papers take a detour

Certificates of incorporation, agency agreements and free-sale certificates generally need a chamber of commerce certification before the embassy will look at them. Therefore, we add that stop to the file when it applies.

Free zones and mainland ask for the same seals

Whether the company is in JAFZA, DMCC or on the mainland, the embassy chain is identical. What changes, instead, is what the free-zone authority asks for after arrival.

Requirements move quietly

The embassy updates forms, fees and acceptable copies without notice. So we check the current version on the day of submission.

Why us

Why our UAE embassy attestation files rarely bounce

Since 2009 we have prepared documents for use abroad from Miami, and a Florida Notary Public leads the practice, so the notarization that opens many of these files is done in-house. A written quote separates official fees from ours before anything is submitted, the same person follows your file through the three offices, and you can reach us by WhatsApp, by Zoom during office hours or in person in Brickell by appointment.

The process

Your UAE embassy attestation in three moves

01

Send a photo of the document

On WhatsApp or through the form below, with a note on what it is for in the UAE. Then we reply the same business day with the route and the quote.

02

Courier the original to Miami

We check it on arrival and open the file at the issuing state. But if it is a private document that still needs notarization, we do that first.

03

Receive it attested

Once the state, the Department of State and the UAE Embassy are done, the original travels back to you with a tracking number and a note on the MOFA step.

Yes. «Attestation» is the word used in the Gulf for what other countries call legalization: the chain of seals that ends at the embassy of the destination country.

In most cases yes. After the embassy seal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attests the document inside the Emirates. That step is completed there, so we tell you in advance how it works.

Yes, and most of our UAE clients do. You courier the document to Miami, we run the three seals, and the original returns to you attested.

No. Universities and vital records offices issue those only to you. So our work starts when you hold the document; we do not obtain, request or process official records.

The embassy in Washington, D.C., or one of the consulates general, depending on the state that issued the document. Therefore, we confirm the office with jurisdiction before submitting.

Several weeks as a rule, because three offices are involved and each works at its own pace. So we put an estimated timeline in the written quote, and we update you if it changes.

Not before attestation. When the receiving entity needs Arabic, the translation is usually done in the UAE by a licensed translator, after the seals are in place.
